Meet Anna
With more than 20 years of teaching experience across dance and movement disciplines, Anna combines strong technical foundations with a thoughtful understanding of alignment, body awareness and expressive movement.

Anna teaches regular bellydance classes in Leicester, welcoming women with different levels of dance experience.
She breaks movements down clearly and helps students understand how they work within the body—not simply how to copy them.

Training and Professional Experience

Anna’s movement journey began when she was just five years old, starting with rhythmic gymnastics. She later competed at a high level as part of a junior team in Latvia, receiving awards in group and duet categories.
She continued her training at the Youth Ballet Choreography Studio Klassika, specialising in character dance. As part of the company, she performed internationally in Germany, Spain, Italy and Ukraine and received Grand Prix and other prize placements.
Anna’s professional stage experience spans more than 20 years and includes work across a variety of dance and performance styles. Her screen experience includes performing the lead role in the short film The Nymph.
She continued her professional education at Dance College Cork in Ireland, studying ballet, jazz, contemporary dance, yoga, kinesiology and other vocational dance disciplines.

Her stage experience in Ireland included performing with Cork City Ballet in classical productions such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, alongside contemporary performance projects.
After taking up pole dance, Anna went on to establish and run her own dance studio in Cork. For more than a decade, she taught pole dance, flexibility and movement classes while supporting students with different abilities, goals and levels of experience.
Alongside her dance career, Anna has undertaken postgraduate study in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at the University of Derby, further developing her understanding of body awareness, emotional expression and the relationship between movement and wellbeing.

Bellydance Journey
Alongside her classical and contemporary training, Anna studied oriental dance with Asfar Studio in Latvia and performed in a range of bellydance productions.
She continued developing her bellydance knowledge by attending workshops with local and international teachers and later completed the Yallar Belly Dance Teacher Training Programme.
Her performance recognition includes achieving second place at a bellydance competition in Dublin, reflecting her versatility across different movement and performance styles.
